It's a good idea to change your email password on a regular basis. You can change your password in just a few steps using your desktop computer, tablet, or smartphone.  

Change your email password via the myAT&T website 

1.Log in to your AT&T account 

2.Select Profile > myAT&T Login Password

3.Enter and save your password information.

 Confirmation is sent once your password is successfully changed. It may take up to five minutes for the new password to take effect. 

The instructions above are valid for both primary and secondary email addresses and for all AT&T email address domains (@att.net, @ameritech.net, @pacbell.net, @swbell.net, @bellsouth.net, @flash.net, @prodigy.net, @wans.net, @sbcglobal.net, @nvbell.net, @snet.net).

Shared password for AT&T Access ID and AT&T email 


If you have an AT&T Access ID with an AT&T email address associated with it:

  • The password will be the same on att.com and att.net.
  • You can log in with your Access ID or email address to manage your account or check your email.
  • If you change your password, it changes for both your Access ID and your email address.Learn more about shared password.
  • Remember for best security we recommend that you change your password often and use a new password each time.


Update password on your phone 


If the email password you just changed is also used to access the same email account on your smartphone, you will also need to Update the email setting on your smartphone.
